SUMMARY:BIRDBROTHER
LOCATION:Stourbridge Katie Fitzgerald's
DESCRIPTION:Kasperia ( acoustic) - Birdbrother is a duo which comprises si
nger songwriter Philip Stapley on guitar and his musical partner Paul Bead
le (accomplished multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who has played at Glas
tonbury Festival\, Warwick Festival\, Upton Folk Festival\, Newent Folk Fe
stival\, Pontardawe Festival\, The Barbican in London\, and more\, and has
been a troubadour of the local folk scene for four decades with 'Whitelea
ved Oak'\, 'Splatt' and 'Journeyman').While Philip’s etheric soothing to
nes transport the listener to distant melancholic realms\, Paul enchants w
ith his energetic and unique performance playing flute\, percussion\, guit
ar and mandolin.Birdbrother play all original songs of love\, life and spi
 rituality\, which paint a romantic\, inspiring\, optimistic\, thought-prov
oking\, yet sometimes melancholic picture. Their brand of psychedelic\, dr
eam-weaving has been compared to that of Nick Drake\, Donovan and John Mar
tyn and undoubtedly has its roots in 60’s/70’s progressive\, acoustic
folk.Since 2018 they have played at a variety of venues including ‘The K
itchen Garden Cafe’\, ‘Narrowboat Sessions’\, ‘Katie Fitzgerald’
s’ and ‘Ludlow Green Fair’\, The Woodman Folk Club\, Brimfield Folk
Club\, The Next Level Folk Club\, amongst others\, and completed a fine se
t on the acoustic stage at Beardy Folk Festival June 2025. They have been
personally invited by Geoff Lakeman to play at this year’s Beautiful Day
s Festival\, and closer to home played Bridgnorth Music and Arts Festival
in the castle grounds and are booked to play The Quay Stage in August 2026
