DESCRIPTION:Who doesn't admire the elegance of an orchid? These plants are
  truly nature's intricate treasures. In this hour and. Half class\, you'll
  learn the basics of keeping your orchid happy and blooming.   \n    
                              \nOrchids can thrive in almost
  any glass vase as long as the roots are visible. Being able to see the en
 tire plant makes it easier to ensure every part of your orchid is thriving
 . Some orchids even photosynthesize through their roots\, encouraging grow
 th and flowering.\n                           \n        
                      \n \n \nRepotting is essential not just 
 for maintaining root health but also for improving it. After you have new 
 bark and you have all new growing medium you will not need to repot for at
  least two years. Foraging for orchid bark is also something that we can 
 do here in Canada.  I will show you which trees have bark that is suitabl
 e for orchids and also how to prepare this bark so that it is a growing me
 dium. \n \n \n \n                     \nHere at Sammie's in
  Marda Loop we are a bunch of artists that are working together to teach y
 ou how to tap into your creative side.  We have a range of classes and ex
 periences for you to learn from.  We’re so excited to bring a new artis
 ts corner to the Marda Loop community. \nOne glass vase and potting mediu
 m of fir bark\, sphagnum moss and cotton will be provided. It's recommende
 d to bring your own orchid from home\, but if you don't have one\, dormant
  orchids in various sizes will be available for $20-$45. You can also brin
 g your own vase or pick one from the selection provided. Extra materials w
 ill be available for purchase if you have other orchids at home that need 
 care.\nthis class will take you approximately an hour and a half.  Doors 
 open at 5:30pm and we will be working on our orchid until 9:30pm.  So no 
 rush to get there at open.  Please feel free to join us when it is conven
 ient for you. \nWe’ll have plenty of nibblies and snacks\, along with a
  selection of curated cocktails and local beers to enjoy. Snack boards can
  be purchased with your tickets\, and cocktails will be available all nigh
 t.\nJoin us for an evening of learning\, snacking and beautiful orchids.
