DESCRIPTION:In 1982\, Maxell (a previous local Japanese manufacturing compa
 ny) along with the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce\, held the first C
 onyers Cherry Blossom Festival to further nurture the friendship and excha
 nge of Japanese Culture. In 1997\, the festival moved to the Georgia Inter
 national Horse Park in order to accommodate the growth in size and attenda
 nce.From that simple beginning\, the two-day contemporary art festival has
  grown to include hundreds of artist and crafter booths\, a variety of foo
 d booths and entertainment from diverse cultures generally attracting an e
 stimated 25\,000 guests over the weekend. Festival goers enjoy free admiss
 ion into the festival with a parking fee. The festival continues to grow a
 nd strives for excellence each year. Over the years\, the festival has bee
 n awarded “Best Festival in the Southeast” at the Southeast Festivals 
 and Events Kaleidoscope Awards\, recently taking home the GOLD again in 20
 26. The festival has also been named a Top 20 Event in the Southeast by th
 e Southeast Tourism Society for multiple years and most recently named Sig
 nature Event in the Southeast in 2025. Scheduled during the blooming of th
 e beautiful Yoshino Cherry Trees\, the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival bri
 ngs the community together focusing on cultural understanding and friendsh
