SUMMARY:Dark Dazey / Sunshine Makers at Meteor
LOCATION:Meteor
DESCRIPTION:Dark Dazey / Sunshine Makers at Meteor Sept 24th / $15 advance
 d / $20 door / 8pm doors \nFor fans of: Elephant Stone\, Babe Rainbow\, P
ond \nGod is a Frog Heaven is a Swamp is the second studio album by Los A
ngeles-based band Dark Dazey. Self-ascribed as ‘frog rock\,’ the soni
cs hop between hazy\, atmospheric ‘swampscapes’ and country-fried gara
 ge rock\, stitched together into a vivid\, genre-blending collage.\nSet ag
ainst the backdrop of late-stage capitalism and low-grade existential drea
d\, Dark Dazey trades cynicism for something equal parts strange and playf
ul: swampy escapism rooted in the belief that there really is something be
autiful out there in the muck. They recast the swamp as a place of joy\, h
umor\, and possibility. A place to be worshipped\, never drained.\nBlendin
g the offbeat experimental spirit of Ween\, the laid-back surrealism of Ma
c DeMarco\, and Uthe playful satire of Viagra Boys\, God is a Frog Heaven
is a Swamp sounds a bit like the Grateful Dead dosed Jimmy Buffett.\nIt’
s an album best experienced with your feet in the water and a cold drink i
 n hand… or atop a lily pad. \n \nSunshine Makers are a psychedelic s
oul-funk band from London\, Ontario\, known for their lush harmonies\, ti
ght grooves\, and uplifting message of unity and love. Drawing from R&B\,
jazz\, funk\, and 70s West Coast soul — with a splash of analog synth
 nostalgia — the group’s warm\, vintage-tinged sound is both timeless a
nd refreshing.\nSince their formation in 2017\, Sunshine Makers have built
a following through standout live shows\, collaborations with artists lik
e Julien Barbagallo and Chester Hansen\, and the critical success of their
2024 self-titled album. Their sophmore album\, The Sun Still Shines\, dr
opped June 20\, 2025\, with singles released in harmony with the solar cal
endar — symbolizing cycles of hope\, growth\, and devotion. The album is
a soul-nourishing blend of funk rhythms and harmonic richness.\nIn April\
, 2026\, the band flew to Los Angeles to record their third album\, Turn
Up The Sun\, with producer Sergio Rios (Say She She\, Neal Frances) The so
ngs were recorded live off the floor to analog tape. The album is set to r
elease in June 2027\, with the first single\, The Love We Give\, arriving
September 4\, 2026. \nPraised by CBC Radio and featured on Rolling St
one France's Playlist of the Week\, Sunshine Makers have also earned fans
across the Atlantic\, with over 3\,000 radio plays in France in the past
three years. Xavier Boyer of Tahiti 80 describes their sound as “blu
 e-eyed\, West Coast\, 70s psychedelic soul\, with some 80s synths.”\n\nB
