The Fagans in Concert for Peace

Come and enjoy a late afternoon concert at Smith's Alternative with top Australian folk musicians, Margaret and Bob Fagan, who have a passion for social and environmental justice.

Margaret and Bob are highly respected members of the Australian folk
scene, having started singing together after they met at ANU in
Canberra many years ago. They have been favourites at festivals
around Australia and in the UK for many years, and have frequently
sung at the National Folk Festival here in Canberra. They are known
both for their work with their family band, The Fagans, and as a dynamic
duo. Their songs reflect their passion for social and environmental
justice, so you will hear songs for peace as well as haunting traditional
ballads, and contemporary stories. Well known for their harmony
singing, they perform both a cappella and accompanied. In 2025 they
were given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Folk Festival.
