Beautiful Briny Sea X Lewis Pogue: Salt and Chocolate Tastingwith Suzi Sheffield and Tom SimonsWhy does a pinch of salt make chocolate taste more like chocolate?Right here in Atlanta, Suzi Sheffield of Beautiful Briny Sea hand-blends salts with names like French Picnic and Hot Steve, while Tom Simons of Lewis Pogue Artisan Chocolate makes chocolate in small batches. For one evening they're putting their work side by side.Join us at MODA as Tom and Suzi curate three pairings of Lewis Pogue chocolate with Beautiful Briny Sea salt blends and guide you through them one at a time. You'll taste and talk about each pairing. Along the way, they'll talk about how a maker decides which salt, how much, and how fine, and what happens when those decisions go wrong. The evening closes with a tasting of Lewis Pogue's new Lava Sea Salt Bar, to be released this fall. What to Expect:Arrive early to explore MODA's latest exhibition, Salt: A Design StoryTasting will begin at 6:15 PMA conversation with Suzi Sheffield and Lewis Pogue on the craft behind their pairingsThree guided chocolate and salt pairingsA debut tasting of the Lewis Pogue Lava Sea Salt BarBeautiful Briny Sea salts and Lewis Pogue chocolate available to take homeAbout Suzi Sheffield & Beautiful Briny SeaSuzi Sheffield is the founder of Beautiful Briny Sea, an Atlanta-based artisan dry goods company she started in 2011 after years running restaurants and catering events.
