HERE 2 HEAR - standards & tangents - giuliette price trio

standards & tangents — giuliette price trio
in this next HERE TO HEAR performance at THE FLAT, giuliette price and her trio unravel the music behind what composers have written.a set dedicated to jazz improvisation.joined by Adam Powell on piano and Joshua Nemaire on double bass for standards & tangents, we welcome you for an evening of familiar songs taken somewhere deliberately unfamiliar.
the trio will dig into obscure and heartbreakingly beautiful jazz standards, pulling apart their melodies and abandoning their harmonies to construct new stories of their own.
through improvisation, reinterpretation and spontaneous detours, the songs become starting points rather than destinations.Expect tender melodies, strange turns, unexpected silences and moments of freedom that exist only once.
standards & tangents is an exploration of what happens when three musicians stop trying to play the song as written — and start listening to where it wants to go.
tickets are limited - booking is essential.we wish to see you there for this exploration of sound x
