**The Social X-Rays** have come a long way. They stand unwaveringly in the footsteps of giants. Sometimes wayward sons, but not prodigal sons. Jesus's sons. **The Social X-Rays** are elegantly askew. They have no forebears. They may or may not have been dissolute at some point, but they certainly aren't now. Sex infuses, but does not define them. They are inveterate, unrelenting city boys but pastoral, to the depths of their souls. They have each lived several lifetimes, and have stories to tell, that can't be suppressed. They're feline. Sometimes supine. Never prostrate. Fuckers, but kissers too. Especially kissers. They're turgid with love, defined by love. They can't help themselves. They wear it on their sleeves. Unrepentant, but not averse to apologies. They can see right through you. Vocalist-lyricist Michael Wiener has another power trio, The Children..., with Jim and Phil of Cop Shoot Cop, Swans and Human Impact. He's also a DJ and music critic, film and theater actor, writer and producer and adjunct English professor. Rock Savage is a drummer, composer, visual artist and writer originally from Austin, TX. He moved to New York City in 1988 with surrealistic industrial noise band Miracle Room, and subsequently joined post-hardcore group Barkmarket, who signed with Def American in 1991. He's played with The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, multiple seminal jazz artists, including Mose Allison and Roscoe Mitchell, and many others. His first novel, sci-fi horror-thriller Hunters & Gatherers, was published in 2025. Tim Bradlee, an uncontainable man of the world and legendary building contractor, is best known musically for co-founding the notorious band The Spitters, whose relatively unsung legacy belies their visceral impact, which reverberates through downtown to this day. Other bands have included Audio Dyslexia • The French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry once wrote: “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away,” That quest for the elemental led to the creation of **John & Dan** (https://www.johnanddan.com/), an offshoot duo of the avant-rock group Barbez (http://www.barbez.com/) (Tzadik, Important Records). **John & Dan** features Barbez founder Dan Kaufman on guitar and the group's longtime drummer John Bollinger on vibraphone, bass, video projection, and drums. Our just finished debut album was recorded and mixed by the master producer and engineer Martin Bisi, features a guest appearance by Dawn McCarthy (Faun Fables), and explores a vast sonic terrain that encompasses both tenderness and ferocity. • **Day So Far** is the darkwave dreampop violin/synth duo of Sarah Bernstein and Stuart Popejoy, setting melancholic lyrics to maximal harmony and hypnotic beats. Their debut album is out now, featuring Sarah on voice+violin+keys and Stuart on synths+drum machine.
