-JOHN AGESILAS- (from NL) John Agesilas has been a club kid since house music first hit the clubs, and he still plays like one. His sets move through deep house, acid, Detroit techno, soulful house and the classics that built the culture. His selection comes from more than 34 years inside the scene as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. He knows what a floor needs because he has spent his life on one. As co-founder of Risk Sound System, he has played Paradiso Amsterdam, Rex Club Paris, Djoon and Sugar Factory. He has shared the booth with Atjazz, Kyle Hall, Rich Medina, Karizma and Osunlade. His release "The Sound Is Yours" was remixed by Kerri Chandler on Legato Records, and "Grow" came out on Atjazz Record Company. John is the founder of NightOwls, a club night that has brought dancers and music lovers together for 13 years. He also co-founded Summer Dance Forever and has been its co-artistic director since 2009. In 2020 he founded the Foundation Hip Hop Center in Amsterdam Southeast, which uses street and club culture to educate young people. He teaches at the Amsterdam School of the Arts and leads a project with the Nederlandse Wetenschapsagenda (NWA) documenting hip-hop history.
