Jo Quail is a composer and virtuoso cellist from London, widely recognised for her pioneering use of looping and her distinctive fusion of classical, contemporary, metal, and avant-garde influences. Her music combines organic fluidity with intricate sonic architecture, ranging from intimate solo works to large-scale commissions for orchestras and ensembles. She has performed internationally at major venues and festivals, collaborated with a diverse range of artists, and released a critically acclaimed catalogue of solo albums. She has collaborated with acts as diverse as Caspian, Damo Suzuki, Enslaved, Emma Ruth Rundle, FM Einheit, God Is An Astronaut, MONO, My Dying Bride, Myrkur, and Poppy Ackroyd, as well as touring with many of these artists and others including Amenra, Boris, Heilung, and Wardruna.
