The scores of one of the greatest jazz musicians of the century
had been gathering dust in a cupboard; but thanks to conductor Clark Rundell and to esperanza spalding, they have now been revealed to the public. The singer and double bassist, who, like Leo Genovese and Terri Lyne Carrington, collaborated with Wayne Shorter, stands out here as the custodian of an invaluable legacy.
