How can you be a creator without a visual imagination? After 20 years in the film industry, award-winning editor Sarah Taylor discovers she is among the approximately 3% with aphantasia. She sets out to discover how her brain works, and where her creativity comes from.

ABOUT THE DIRECTORS
Sarah Taylor, CCE
Sarah Taylor, CCE is an award-winning editor with over twenty years of experience. She has edited documentaries, television programs, shorts, and feature films, many of which have screened at top festivals such as Tribeca, TIFF, and Sundance, and have aired on networks including CBC, BBC, PBS, APTN, and AMI. Her recent work includes the feature-length documentary CEREMONY. which had its world premiere at SXSW 2026, THE LEBANESE BURGER MAFIA, which premiered at Hot Docs in 2023, and the feature film HEY VIKTOR!, which debuted at Tribeca Film Festival in 2023.
Beyond film and television, Sarah expanded her storytelling expertise into podcasting in 2018, producing, hosting, and editing interview-based shows such as BRAAAINS and THE EDITOR’S CUT.
Sarah recently finished her debut feature documentary, INVISIBLE IMAGINATION which is currently screening at festivals and will air on CBC in early 2027.
Anna Cooley
Anna Cooley (she/her) is an award-winning film director, writer, cinematographer, and producer from Calgary, AB. She is a multi-disciplinary artist whose projects push the boundaries of conventional storytelling by identifying unique narratives and collaborating with artists from a diverse range of disciplines and lived experiences. She gravitates towards projects that tackle difficult subject matter with humour and empathy.
Anna is an alumna of the Whistler Doc Lab, Women in the Director’s Chair Story and Leadership Program, and the Canadian Academy Directors Program for Women. She teaches, mentors, is a long-standing Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers board member, and the coordinator of youth camp Write 2 Film. She has training in mental health first aid, resiliency, anti-racism, accessibility for visible and invisible disabilities and team wellness.
