Designed for healthcare practitioners, this highly interactive and collaborative workshop introduces the theory and practice of Narrative-Based Medicine—the effort to understand the stories at work in healthcare better and enhance our ability to step into them more fully, which can have extraordinary impact on patient care and practitioner fulfillment. Led by writer and teacher Damian Tarnopolsky from the Narrative-Based Medicine Lab at Temerty Medicine, University of Toronto. Damian Tarnopolsky is a novelist, essayist, and professor who teaches at the Narrative-Based Medicine Lab at the University of Toronto’s medical school. His books include Goya’s Dog, The Distance Home, and Every Night I Dream I’m a Monk, Every Night I Dream I’m a Monster. He lives in Toronto. This class is suitable for emerging to intermediate writers.
