FADED PRESENTS PROJECT: BENEATH THE BREAKS

Curated by NISHABYNIGHT, Beneath The Breaks brings together DJs from across the bass and electronic music scene for its debut at Club Makossa, Dalston.

Born from a love of UK rave and soundsystem culture, the night creates space for the darker, deeper and more percussive side of underground music. Moving between heavy basslines, broken rhythms and hypnotic grooves, Beneath The Breaks celebrates the sounds that sit between genres, bringing together different corners of the underground for a night of bass, breaks and beyond.

THE LINEUP

NISHABYNIGHT

East London-based DJ and curator of Beneath The Breaks, NISHABYNIGHT explores the darker, bass-heavy and percussive ends of underground electronic music. With foundations in dubstep and grime, her sound moves across jungle, footwork and techno, weaving together weighty low-end, broken rhythms and driving, hypnotic grooves.

A resident on Subtle Radio, she previously hosted Beneath The Breaks on Dalston Radio and has appeared on Brixton Radio. Her live appearances include Roots & Culture, bringing her selections to dancefloors across London's underground music scene.

Through Beneath The Breaks, she champions genre-crossing selections and takes the dancefloor on a journey through the heavier, more rhythm-driven corners of electronic music.

ItsJermayne

ItsJermayne is an East London-based DJ and producer known for high-energy sets rooted in UKG, UK Funky, Grime, Dubstep and Jungle.

A resident on Subtle Radio and Aaja Radio, he has also featured on Voices Radio and Reprezent Radio. He has performed at Ministry of Sound, Snowboxxx Festival, HWK London, All My Friends, Isla Ray and Bubble Oasis, as well as for brands including Meta, On Running, Lululemon and Red Bull. His work has also seen collaborations with Moncler and BBC Sounds.

Whether in clubs, at festivals, on radio or at brand events, ItsJermayne delivers bass-heavy, energetic sets that champion the best of UK electronic music.

Karishma

West London’s Karishma is a DJ and presenter known for her deep knowledge of jungle and drum & bass. Her selections draw on old-school sounds and hidden gems, spanning late-90s jungle through to 2000s rollers and liquid funk.

A resident on Subtle Radio and Sister Midnight, she is also the founder of JAZZ TO JUNGLE, a multi-genre party celebrating the intersection of jazz, soul and electronic music. Her work champions musical and cultural exploration, bringing together deep cuts, rolling breaks and forward-thinking selections.

VERTEX

VERTEX is pushing the envelope in high-energy, multi-genre DJing, using his sets to experiment with sounds that wouldn't usually go together and create sonic journeys. The VERTEX sound is bold, percussive and always evolving.

Expect a night of bass-heavy selections, broken rhythms and genre-crossing sounds, with each DJ bringing their own perspective to the underground.
