Join the Sutherland Shire Symphony Orchestra for our Spring Concert 2026.
Happy and Glorious: Flags, Fanfare and Favourites.
This October, we bring the spirit of the British Proms to the heart of the Sutherland Shire. An afternoon of bold brass, stirring marches and timeless favourites. Featuring the music of Elgar, Strauss, Prokofiev, Dvořák, Borodin and Gershwin.
Highlights include soprano Kerry Nicholson performing Song to the Moon from Dvořák's Rusalka and Summertime from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess. Two of the most beloved soprano showpieces in the repertoire. Kerry will also lead the audience in Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory for a true Last Night of the Proms experience. To close a rousing Australian finale of I Still Call Australia Home and Waltzing Matilda that will have everyone on their feet. 🇦🇺
Conducted by Michael Psaltis — Principal Clarinet and proud member of the Sutherland Shire Symphony Orchestra for nearly 30 years.
British tradition. Australian spirit. European grandeur.
