Filipino Ka Ba? . — Second Screening Back by popular demand: experience Filipino Ka Ba?— translated as “Are You Filipino?”—at a special second screening. Made by local Calgarians, sisters Crislen and Renee Barnachea bring their vision to life through a powerful documentary that touches on the impact of biculturalism, Filipino history, and the arts. In partnership with the Philippine Calgary Festival Association we are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring the second screening to you! About the film🎬: Filipino Ka Ba? explores third identity and the generational experiences of Filipino Canadians living in Alberta—what we inherit, what we carry, and how we define “enough” for ourselves in terms of where we stand culturally. It asks the question "what does it mean to be Filipino?". It explores the sacrifices that come along with migrating from one country to another, and the rewards and the challenges of that experience.
