The Hunchback Of Notre Dame

The Hunchback Of Notre Dame

Based on the 1831 Victor Hugo novel and the 1996 Disney animated film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame stage musical is a sweeping, gothic production that follows the life of Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer of Notre Dame cathedral.
Raised in isolation by the strict and powerful Archdeacon Claude Frollo, Quasimodo is taught that he is a monster who must never venture outside. However, during the chaotic Feast of Fools, he builds up the courage to sneak out into Paris, where he is cruelly mocked and tormented by the crowd.

He is rescued by Esmeralda, a compassionate and free-spirited Romani dancer who advocates for justice and kindness. Her beauty and fierce independence capture the hearts of three very different men: Quasimodo, who loves her for her empathy. Captain Phoebus, a war-weary soldier looking for redemption. Frollo, who develops a dark, obsessive lust for her that violates his religious vows.

Driven mad by his repressed desires, Frollo declares a violent war on all Romani people to force Esmeralda to submit to him. As Paris burns, the story sets up an epic, high-stakes showdown where Quasimodo and Phoebus must risk everything to protect Esmeralda, rescue her people, and defend the sanctuary of Notre Dame.
