In this production we will follow the same story from William Golding's Lord of the Flies, that follows a group of school aged boys who have crashed landed on an island during war times and have to create a society for themselves. With our production we put a twist on the same classic story by having it focus on women and non binary performers. With this casting choice the show about the class systems in the world becomes a story about the patriarchy and how young women have to navigate through that type of society. Lord of the Flies is a play not only about how humanity can be sucked from these characters but how easy it can be for a society to slip into destruction and despair when faced with choices of life and death.Please read all of the following information for the best possible viewing experience.Lord of the Flies will take place outside for the duration of the performance. We suggest to audiences to bring blankets, towels, and/or lawn chairs for the best viewing experience and comfort. We also suggest using sunscreen, bug spray before the performance and any other things you might need. With this performance being outside, we as a company will be monitoring the weather and giving updates via our Instagram regarding time shifts and canceling of performances, if need be. You can follow us there @EmmaChambersCreative.We ask that you arrive to venue between 7:00pm-7:15pm and when you arrive at the location, please make your way to the One09 Clubhouse, here we will check tickets and then shortly before the performance we will walk the audience to the viewing area of the show. The show will start at the earliest at 7:30pm, but will be determined based on the sun. This performance will have a 15-20 minute intermission, during which the audience will have the opportunity to go back to the clubhouse for anything you might need.Content Warnings for this production:Mature Themes & Language, Violence, Hunting of Animals, & Blood
