Queer magpies of London. Do you love colourful trinkets? Fancy spending a Saturday evening making your own in a chill, low-pressure environment with other queer folks? Then come join Jill from The Bead Kitty at QueerSwap Studio for a Kandi bracelet extravaganza. In rave and festival culture, ‘kandi’ refers to handmade bracelets made from colourful pony beads that are exchanged as symbols of friendship, unity and self-expression. Typically made from colourful pony beads, Kandi bracelets are a perfect entry-level craft. There is no right or wrong way to make a Kandi bracelet - it's all about showing off your personality. Jill will be on hand to demonstrate, provide assistance and to generally facilitate your ideas, no matter how weird (and if you've ever met Jill at a market, you know there's no such thing as too weird for them. ). You can make as many bracelets as your heart desires. So come to QueerSwap Studio for an evening of colour, chaos and many many beads.
