Pericles: An Adaptive Performance for People with Cognitive DisabilitiesThis adaptation of Shakespeare’s Pericles utilizes the Hunter Heartbeat Method – a unique style of storytelling geared towards audiences with all types of cognitive disabilities. Through a series of engaging sensory drama games, the audience will be transported into Shakespeare’s classic tale of adventure, loss, and redemption in this groundbreaking production, which aims to bring the gift of theatre to those who may not have ever experienced its transformational power. No prior knowledge of Shakespeare is necessary!Participant Tickets: If you are a person with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), this is for you! Participants will join the action on stage with Phamaly actors engaging in sensory drama games. No previous theatre experience or rehearsal is required, and those with high-impact disabilities are welcome! Be part of the classic Shakespearean tale with this innovative theatre method. All participants or their caregivers will receive a call from Phamaly staff before the performance with accessibility information.Audience Tickets: Audiences are invited to observe the Hunter Heartbeat Method performance. This is not your standard show and will be different every performance. Be prepared to observe 90 minutes of theatre games using a Shakespearean framework and support our IDD participants.
