Initial Consult: Taking Diet Culture to Therapy

A satirical musical-comedy that takes diet-culture to therapy — unpacking obsession, identity and mental health through rap, tap and song. Initial Consult is a bold one-woman musical comedy where Charlotte Grimmer turns a therapy session into sharp satire on diet culture, self-image and success obsession — blending rap, tap and original songs with humour and honesty.Trigger warning: eating disorders, mental health. Through high-energy performance and deeply personal storytelling, Charlotte unpacks the chaotic thoughts behind perfectionism, body image and the pressure to “have it all together.” What starts as a routine consult quickly spirals into an emotionally charged, fast-paced theatrical experience that balances laugh-out-loud comedy with genuine vulnerability. Praised for its originality and relatability across major fringe festivals, Initial Consult is a show that lingers long after the final note.
