His uncanny, page-turning thrillers have attracted major film adaptations, with such names attached to them as Charlie Kaufman and Saoirse Ronan. Even so, A New Kind of Clean represents a new level of collaboration, between himself and award-winning filmmaker Ellie Foumbi. Originally envisioned as a film, the work became a novel as the two creators passed it back and forth, jointly crafting a masterwork of philosophical horror that follows a desperate aspiring actress who must weigh what she’s willing to sacrifice to reach her dreams.
