Winnipeg bassist and musical explorer Daniel Koulack brings together three extraordinary artists - Marilyn Lerner, Ken Whiteley & David Wall - for a special collaborative presentation at Jazz at the Fort Garry Hotel. Featuring celebrated jazz pianist and composer Marilyn Lerner, legendary Canadian roots musician Ken Whiteley, and Toronto singer and composer David Wall, this one-of-a-kind ensemble brings jazz, folk, blues, klezmer, Yiddish song and free improvisation into an intimate and deeply musical conversation. Marilyn Lerner is renowned for her adventurous piano playing and genre-defying work spanning jazz, classical, klezmer and experimental music. A veteran of the Canadian folk and blues scene, Ken Whiteley brings more than five decades of experience, a remarkable instrumental palette and a lifelong commitment to the power of communal song. David Wall, a longtime collaborator with Lerner, brings his rich knowledge of Yiddish and Jewish musical traditions and a singular voice shaped by decades of work in music, theatre and community. Anchored by Koulack’s expressive bass playing, this special collaboration promises an evening of spontaneous musical discovery, shared traditions and unexpected connections. - Please note: Food and table service will not be available during Jazz at the Fort Garry Hotel performances.
