ADHD Done Differently for Paediatric Speech Pathologists - Level 1 training is a beginning-level professional development workshop focusing on neurodiversity-affirming (NDA) and strengths-based supports.

This is a full-day interactive session that supports attendees to:

• Deepen Brain-Based Understanding:
• Understand the unique way the ADHD brain is designed according to current research.
• Connect the neurodevelopmental profile of ADHD directly to its impact on educational and communication outcomes.
• Analyse current research regarding communication conditions that commonly present alongside ADHD

• Apply Neurodiversity-Affirming Clinical Frameworks
• Learn about assessment and supports for ADHD through a NDA lens
• Evaluate and plan supports that incorporate wider social and family support systems
• Shift clinical mindsets to work WITH the ADHD brain to achieve a family's and individual's goals rather than focusing on compliance or 'social expectation.'

• Implement Practical Engagement Strategies
• Learn how to facilitate internal motivation using interest, novelty and self-determination
• Critically evaluate the purpose of movement in the ADHD brain and why we need it!
• Develop and immediately add highly actionable tools and collaborative strategies to add to you professional supports toolkit.
