We’ll start the night with Redbreast 18 itself, enjoying the finished whiskey before taking it apart, dram by dram, to discover exactly what goes into creating it. Andrew will guide us through four individual component whiskeys, each aged for more than 18 years and drawn from a different cask type: Port, Cream Sherry, Oloroso Sherry and Ex-Bourbon. Tasted individually, we’ll get the chance to discover the distinctive character each cask brings and begin to understand how these different flavours and influences come together in the final Redbreast 18. And once we’ve explored all the pieces that make up Redbreast 18, we’ll bring everything back together for one final, very special pour. The unreleased, not for sale, cask-strength version of Redbreast 18, an expression very few people will ever have had the chance to taste. So come along with us for a fascinating journey inside one of Ireland’s finest whiskeys discover what makes Redbreast 18 so special.
