Ensemble Gombert -Choral Jewels of the Spanish Renaissance

Ensemble Gombert are no strangers to All Saints’ or to the Melbourne choral musical scene, not to mention other parts of Australia, Europe and the U.S. Founded by John O’Donnell in 1990, it has since then been Melbourne’s outstanding chamber choir, noted for its pure intonation and historic approach to choral sound and style. The Ensemble’s subscription concerts are broadcast regularly on ABC Classic FM, and it has recorded several albums. Complementing its annual concert series have been numerous appearances at the Woodend Winter Arts Festival, highlights being a virtuoso performance of Bach’s St John Passion in 2024 and Purcell’s Ode on St Cecilia’s Day in 2025.
