"A griot is a traditional West African storyteller, musician, and oral historian" This event, 'Our Modern Griots' seeks to answer the question; who are our modern storytellers, our Griots, travelling and weaving tales, leaving their mark on the people and environments around them. We welcome Otis Mensah for their album launch, a Sheffield born, Berlin based musician, imagining at the intersection of hip-hop, jazz and storytelling, accompanied by keys player Wolle. We welcome poet, writer, live host and radio host Sile Sibanda to the decks to close out a night of hip-hop, experimental jazz and more with her selections, cutting across feel good tracks, R&B and more. Minimum age: 18+
