During Term 4, 2026, the St Norbert College Mathematics Department will be running a Year 6 Mathematics Boot Camp to support students as they prepare for the transition from primary school to secondary school.

A strong foundation in the key mathematical concepts required for Year 7 is essential for a positive and successful start to high school. Mathematics is a sequential subject, and developing confidence in fundamental skills provides students with the foundation they need to engage with more challenging concepts and reach their full potential in Year 7.

The workshop is available and recommended for all Year 6 students and will focus on strengthening essential mathematical skills, including:

  • Times tables and multiplication facts
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • The four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Problem-solving strategies

The Boot Camp provides students with an opportunity to consolidate their existing knowledge, identify areas where they may need further support, and build confidence in their mathematical abilities before commencing Year 7.

When: Each Tuesday of Term 4 from Week 2 (20 October 2026) to Week 5 (10 November 2026)
Where: Various classrooms in the Prémontré Building, St Norbert College
Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
What to bring: Workbook, pencil, eraser, sharpener, ruler, red pen, water and some healthy bites.
