Colour Me Blood Red + Escapist + DJ - The Widows - with a brand new album just about to appear it's an exciting time for prospective suiters everywhere...these Widows are hot! With ramalama and gnarly blues tinged post punk on show, this is some fiery and ferocious music that has a foot in Dead Kennedys like pure punk and two or possible three (?) feet in a kind of Fall/Cramps/Gun club garage-abilly tradition. Great musicians and a fantastic frontman in Mr Kim Le Tan. Superb. Colour Me Blood Red - not to be confused with the Gordon Herschell Lewis splatter core movie- but then again why not? Confuse them, conflate them, and enjoy the interface! This razor shop surf noir would be a fab accompaniment to any decent horror flick. Putting the Mental into Instrumental with gothic and post punk tropes that hint at the Banshees, Killing Joke, Joy Division et al- an enigmatic, wordless spaghetti cold wave triumph...stunning stuff.Escapist - post punk psychedelic duo sounding very groovy indeed atop their drum machine. With enigmatic covers and interesting original this is an escape route you should really get on.
