Agenda: The Be–Do–Have Model: Creating Sustainable Change Through Identity, Action and Outcomes
Presented by Justine Lawson
The Be–Do–Have model is a simple coaching framework that shifts the focus from what we want to have or what we need to do, towards who we need to be in order to create the outcomes we want.
Justine Lawson
I’m a Rehabilitation Counsellor who is passionate about helping people recognise their strengths, overcome barriers, and move towards a life and career that feels meaningful to them. Much of my career has been in employment and vocational services, where I’ve supported people through periods of uncertainty, change, and transition.
My practice is grounded in a person-centred, strengths-based approach. I’ve worked with diverse individuals across vocational counselling, rehabilitation, NDIS and NIISQ services, and have always valued the opportunity to understand the person behind the presenting challenge—not simply the challenge itself.
I’ve also enjoyed mentoring practitioners and postgraduate students, sharing the practical lessons I’ve learnt throughout my career and supporting others as they develop their own professional identity.
Beyond my day-to-day practice, I’ve contributed to the rehabilitation counselling profession through national initiatives and my previous role as a Board Member of the Rehabilitation Counselling Association of Australasia (RCAA), now part of ASORC. I’m also a #1 Amazon bestselling co-author of An Inspired Life and have had the privilege of sharing my professional journey on the Rehabilitation Counselling Podcast.
I’m particularly interested in the intersection between who we are, how we show up, and the changes we create in our lives—which is what led me to the Be–Do–Have model and why I’m excited to share it with your members.
