Many of us in the health care professions who have little ones in our care, carry the monumental responsibility of supporting the whole family as they navigate an increasingly challenging health-care system, in a world that does not make it easy to be healthy nor access timely appropriate care.
This 2-day hands-on workshop is designed for healthcare professionals who have established experience in orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT), seeking to expand your skill set with a focus on airway health optimisation, preventive health mindset and early intervention.
If you want to learn how to design and implement functional therapy programs that work in this age group that are easy to do at home and support the families in your care, as well as hear from world renowned medical, dental and allied health experts, you are in the right place.
This workshop is hands-on experiential learning, so come prepared to have some fun.
You will learn
- why sleep is a key pillar of health, alongside three other foundation pillars of health (especially for little people)
airway health challenges are a global public health challenge
- screening and therapy protocols built over 4 decades of working with medical and dental specialists
- how to design and implement age-appropriate functional 'airway' treatment for 2–5-year-old children
- tried and true therapy techniques, a functional approach that includes strategies beyond OMT
- the interdisciplinary care team required to fully treat children with sleep and breathing challenges
