From “What is fusion?” to “Q-DEMO,” a prototype fusion reactor project that has begun moving toward a demonstration of electricity generation in the 2030s, this event gives you the chance to engage with leading researchers and explore the future of energy together. The Japanese government has set a goal of demonstrating fusion-generated electricity in the 2030s. In March of this year, our institute completed the conceptual design of “Q-DEMO,” a prototype reactor intended to achieve scientifically and technologically meaningful electricity generation in the 2030s. What exactly is Q-DEMO? What is a prototype reactor? How can fusion generate electricity? And what advances are being made in fusion research around the world?Wouldn’t these questions stimulate your intellectual curiosity? If they do, this event is for you! Fusion energy has the potential to address both energy and environmental challenges, while also fostering peace and creating new industries.
