Enjoy a stunning performance of Gabriel Fauré’s ethereal and uplifting setting of Requiem Op.48 in the evocative candlelit setting of St Mary Le Strand, James Gibbs’ baroque masterpiece and arguably the most beautiful of the Queen Anne Churches. Faure’s setting is paired with Herbert Howells' powerful and intensely personal Requiem. The performance begins at 8.30pm, and will last about 70 minutes, without interval, giving concert-goers time to have dinner before the performance. Featuring The L’Inviti Singers with Alexander Pott (organ) Directed by David Guest Programme Requiem – Herbert Howells Requiem Op.48 – Gabriel Fauré The L’Inviti Singers are one of the UK’s best-kept choral secrets, with singers handpicked from the country’s top chamber choirs including Tenebrae, The Sixteen and the Monteverdi Choir. The choir is accompanied by organist Alexander Pott, and the performance is directed by David Guest, Director of the Christopher Wood Choral Foundation who are in residence at St Mary le Strand.
