AI Mum

A Kenyan Gen-Z athlete, Cherono, returns from a scholarship abroad, but her world shatters when she discovers her mother died of cancer. Grieving in secret, she begins coding an AI version of her mother from old messages and videos, desperate to reconnect.Her militant, has-been coach father complicates her mission. Seeing Cherono as his ticket back to relevance, he demands she focus solely on athletics, forbidding any “distraction.” Cherono must perfect her digital mother and find moments to interact with it, all while dodging her father’s tyrannical scrutiny, running the race he controls, and hiding the one project that might heal her.
