The Gentle Art of Sketchbooking with Amanda McLean A 2 Day Workshop where you will make a beautiful sketchbook /Journal and learn techniques to use in it for every day, travel, urban and landscape sketching. Constructed using Coptic Stitching these sketchbooks are a joy to work in as they always lay flat. Once you know the basic steps you can make your own sketchbooks the size and shape you want with your favourite papers. These books are ’one offs’ and are a work of art in their own right. To complete this workshop, you will require good manual dexterity.   Requirements List Sketchbook Workshop A Black Waterproof Pen like Pigma Micron, fine Sharpie, Staedtler Pigmented Liner or a Fountain Pen with waterproof ink. I use a fountain Pen and have some basic fountain pens available for purchase from $13 each with waterproof ink Posca Markers (these are a paint marker and available from Office Works, sometimes Spotlight) sizes 1M (fine) in Light Blue, Beige and White and other colours you like. Suggested extra colours (these are not essential just useful colours) Ivory, Khaki (only available in 3M and 5M ) Sunshine Yellow, Apricot, Glacier Blue (only available in 1MR), Apple Green, Coral, Sky Blue. Not all colours come in the 1M sizes but any size is ok. I have a limited number of these available to purchase if you can’t get any. Please let me know though so I can have enough An assortment of coloured pencils. Any kind, even watercolour pencils will do. Please include a white pencil. A Tombow Marker in Cool Grey 6 N60 or Cool Grey 7 N55 A paintbrush suitable for water based mediums Gouache paints, if you have any, if not Watercolours Small jar or water container for brush washing Small palette or smooth plastic plate for colour mixing.
