"Dance for Every Body" Free Community Workshop with Urban Bush Women

“Dance for Everybody” embraces the idea that each individual has a unique and powerful contribution to make and that bodies are a formidable source of agency. The goal is for "every body" to find their level of challenge and comfort and partake according to their abilities. This movement jam/dance class seeks to appreciate the groups’ diversity as an attribute to the community. No prior dance experience is required. The class explores Urban Bush Women's tradition through the use of breath, weight, polyrhythm, and call-and-response. Space is limited, and all attendees will receive complimentary admission to the 7:00 p.m. performance.
