Haydn’s Symphony No. 92, “Oxford,” brings wit, balance, and brilliance from one of the great masters of the Classical era. The program concludes with Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Symphonic Variations on an African Air , a powerful and expressive work that transforms a traditional melody through imaginative orchestral writing.
