THE CASHIER

Q&A with Writer-Director Andy Edmunds and actor Daphne Maxwell Reid
The Cashier is a dark comedy about Glenda, a 77-year-old church lady working the register at a Virginia hardware store. When she unexpectedly comes into possession of a winning $1.6 billion lottery ticket that isn’t hers, Glenda faces a choice that most people could only dream about—and a moral dilemma she never asked for.  Determined to find the ticket’s rightful owner, Glenda is pulled into the orbit of Atlee, a bumbling domestic extremist, and an increasingly absurd collection of people with very different ideas about money, faith, justice and one another. Filmed in Richmond, Virginia, The Cashier is the directorial feature debut for Virginia Film Office Director Andy Edmunds and stars Daphne Maxwell Reid, Michael Marunde and Robin “The Lady of Rage” Allen.
