[From Tokyo] Walk the Kamakura Old Road — Discover Tokyo’s Hidden Nature and History What if you could step away from the busy streets of Tokyo and walk along a medieval road once traveled by samurai? Join us on a guided walk along the Kamakura Old Road, discovering historic temples and shrines, quiet old streets, hidden landmarks, and the unexpected beauty of Tokyo’s natural landscape. Starting near Machida Station in the western part of Tokyo, we leave the city behind and follow the old road toward Yakushiike Park, one of Japan’s “100 Historic Parks.” Along the way, our guide will reveal the stories hidden in the landscape—stories that are easy to miss when simply passing through. It’s a journey through history, nature, and a quieter side of Tokyo. Come walk the story. Discover a different Tokyo. Highlights ・Walk along a historic medieval road once traveled by samurai ・Discover hidden stories with a local guide ・Experience the surprising nature and history of western Tokyo ・Finish at beautiful Yakushiike Park ・Approx. 5–6 km / 2.5–3 hours Small group: up to 8 participants Meeting Point: Machida Station, Tokyo Fee: ¥2,000 Advance registration required What to Bring / Wear: Comfortable clothing and walking shoes, drinking water, rain gear, and a towel Cancellation Policy & Important Information The tour will take place in light rain but may be cancelled in the event of severe weather. If the tour is cancelled, participants will be notified via Peatix message by 6:00 PM on the day before the event. Please stay hydrated throughout the walk and take breaks as needed. Please walk at your own pace and avoid pushing yourself beyond your comfort level. The tour schedule and route may be subject to change depending on weather and local conditions.
