4-Week Workshop - LIMITED TO 10 STUDENTSEver wanted to try stand-up comedy but didn't know what to say? In this hands-on four-week workshop, you'll learn how comedians turn everyday experiences, observations and opinions into jokes. We'll explore joke structure, punchlines, storytelling, misdirection, comedic voice and more. You'll write, workshop and refine your own material throughout the course. By the end you should have anywhere between 3 to 5 minutes of standup material to test out at an open mic or showcase. Please note, there is NO performance showcase for this class. This is strictly a writing workshop.Day & Time:Saturdays, 10:00am to 12:00pm.Dates:September 26October 10October 24October 31Instructor:Devin DuganBIO: Devin Dugan is a veteran stand-up comedian who has been performing comedy for more than 30 years. Devin has toured throughout the United States, performing stand-up at comedy clubs, casinos, theaters, colleges, and other venues across the country. His stand-up career has included appearances at the prestigious HBO/U.S. Arts Comedy Festival, The Palm Springs Comedy Festival, and NBC's Last Comic Standing. He has also been featured on the Mancow Morning Radio Show and Backstage Live with Joe Scheibinger.Class minimum enrollment needed to proceed - 6Class maximum enrollment - 10
