The Bend Sessions: West Bend’s Free Community Lecture SeriesAugust – November 2026BILL VOLKERTThe History and Ecology of Horicon MarshBill Volkert spent 27 years as the naturalist and wildlife educator for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources at Horicon Marsh, where he led more than 3,700 education programs for over 220,000 visitors, including scientists from more than 40 countries. For this program, Volkert returns to the marsh where he built his career, sharing the history and ecology of one of the largest freshwater wetlands in the United States and a Wetland of International Importance.The Bend Sessions Community Lecture Series runs from August 10th through November 17th and is a FREE event open to the public, however registration is requested.
