This new adaptation of Jane Austen’s 1811 novel stays faithful to the original setting and language while offering a naturalistic, emotionally grounded interpretation. After Mr. Dashwood’s death leaves his widow and daughters financially vulnerable, the family must leave their comfortable home at Norland Park and relocate to Barton Cottage, a simpler residence provided by a distant relative.
At Barton Cottage, sisters Elinor (the embodiment of “sense”) and Marianne (representing “sensibility”) navigate romantic entanglements, heartbreak, and societal expectations. Elinor quietly struggles with her feelings for Edward Ferrars, while Marianne is swept up in a passionate but tumultuous romance with John Willoughby. Their contrasting temperaments lead each sister through emotional trials that ultimately reveal deeper truths about love, duty, and personal growth.
An irresistible new take on Jane Austen's iconic Sense and Sensibility.
