- On Friday October 16th we welcome the fantastic Lenna Bahule to Jamboree, bringing her enchanting blend of traditional and contemporary sounds and rhythms from Mozambique and the Afro diaspora. Known for her powerful voice, vocal arrangements and vibrant rhythms that merge traditional Mozambican elements with contemporary Afro-diasporic sounds ,Lennna's genre-bending and captivating music blends organic materials used as instruments, electronic soundscapes, and lyrics in multiple African and imaginary languages, creating immersive body-mind-soul experiences."Lenna shows the traditional sounds of Mozambique as something almost magical. It's like a pure sound that suddenly comes to your ears and you have to get used to it - which isn't difficult at all." - Ricardo Schott, Pop FantasmaLenna has collaborated with musicians around the world, including names like Varijashree Venugopal (India), Melanie Bourire (La Réunion), Virginia Rodrigues (Brasil), Mû Mbana (Guinea-Bissau), Paulo Flores (Angola), and Stewart Sukuma (Mozambique).In support, Brazilian percussionist/composer Adriano Adewale creates mesmerising atmospheres and soundscapes. Painting with sounds and telling stories through music, Adriano is known for his unconventional and exploratory approach, creating magical soundscapes from the seemingly banal. Using an intriguing array of worldwide percussion instruments as well as unique vocal percussion skills, his playing is creative and innovative, revealing beauty with subtle touch, combined with deep and powerfully crafted infectious groove.
