GORGE and WKB Present: FEMINIZE with Legendary Aja 007

FEMINIZE is a two-hour authentic Ballroom performance workshop taught by Legendary Aja 007, centered on Vogue Femme, femininity, confidence, and the art of feminizing your performance. Taught from the perspective of a Femme Queen with nearly two decades of experience in Ballroom, the workshop introduces participants to authentic Vogue Femme technique while exploring how femininity can be embodied, exaggerated, personalized, and expressed through movement.Participants will explore the foundations and elements of Vogue Femme, musicality, body awareness, performance quality, confidence, and finding comfort within their own feminine expression. Rather than teaching femininity as one specific look or way of moving, FEMINIZE encourages each participant to discover what femininity means in their own body and how to translate that into an intentional and confident performance. The workshop will also provide cultural context surrounding Ballroom, Vogue Femme, and the Femme Queens who have shaped the art form.

Legendary Aja 007 is a Brooklyn-born Ballroom artist, performer, recording artist, DJ, and educator whose relationship with Ballroom spans nearly two decades. Entering the Kiki scene in 2006 and later entering the Mainstream Ballroom scene, Aja has earned numerous Grand Prizes across categories in both scenes, including Runway and Vogue Performance.Known for a performance style rooted in femininity, precision, individuality, and commanding presentation, Aja brings both lived experience and a deep respect for Ballroom’s history and culture to her teaching. As a Black Femme Queen, she is passionate about preserving authentic Ballroom knowledge, honoring the contributions and lineage of Femme Queens, and creating spaces where LGBTQ+ youth can explore movement, confidence, femininity, and self-expression.

There are two steps up to the street entrance door
The door swings into the building and is on a strong spring.
There are an additional 5 steps up to reach the small area in front of the passenger elevator.
Urban Shaman is located on the 2nd floor, Unit #203.
Upon leaving the elevator walk straight forward to the red door directly across from elevator (not the red door located to the right of you).
The entrance to Urban is through the doorway, after a few steps brings you into the main space and office location of the gallery.
Washrooms are located in a small room with one step up into each toilet area.
