The Level 1 Award in Beer provides a sound but simple introduction to the world of beer for those involved in the beer industry – production or retail sales and for those who have a general interest in beer. The topics covered in this one day course are as follows - Beer Styles: An overview of different beer styles, such as ales, lagers, stouts, and porters. Ingredients: Understanding the key ingredients in beer, including malt, hops, yeast, and water. Brewing Process: An introduction to the brewing process, from mashing to fermentation. Serving and Storage: Best practices for serving and storing beer. Beer Tasting: Basic techniques for evaluating beer flavors and aromas. A Fifty question examination completes the course at the end of the day on October 3rd A Thirty question examination completes the course at the end of the day.
