Honduran born pianist and composer Oscar Rossignoli settled in New Orleans in 2014 and is celebrated for his innovative approach, gathering his deep background in classical piano with his love for Afro-Cuban music and American jazz, coupled with the rich cultural tapestry of his homeland. Born with a deep passion for music, Rossignoli began his musical journey, at a very young age. Oscar’s career has been marked by a series of notable achievements and collaborations. He has performed alongside renowned artists across an array of styles, such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jason Marsalis, Herlin Riley, John Boutte Joe Dyson, Nicholas Payton, and many others. His compositions are a reflection of his diverse cultural influences, seamlessly blending traditional Latin rhythms with the influence of the Black American music, and western classical music. With a strong foundation in classical piano, Rossignoli was drawn to the fearless improvisation of Latin Jazz masters like Chucho Valdez and Michel Camilo, to American jazz icons like Oscar Peterson and once in New Orleans, by the sounds of Professor Longhair and James Booker, an integral part of daily life in the Crescent City.
