Alex Clarke | Dave Green | David Newton | Sebastiaan De Krom - We are delighted to welcome the Alex Clarke Quartet to Highams Park Jazz Club on Saturday, 24 October for their first appearance at the club as a quartet.Alex has previously appeared at Highams Park Jazz Club as a guest, and we are delighted to welcome her back with her own quartet for this special evening.Alex Clarke has established herself as one of the most exciting and respected saxophonists on the UK jazz scene. Known for her warm tone, fluent improvisation and strong sense of swing, Alex’s playing is deeply rooted in the jazz tradition while bringing her own distinctive voice to every performance.For this concert, Alex will be presenting music from her latest album Out of the Woods, a project inspired by the legendary saxophonist Phil Woods. The album features Alex’s arrangements of pieces associated with Woods, alongside original compositions that reflect her admiration for his music and influence.Alex will be joined by her quartet members David Newton on piano and Dave Green on double bass, with Sebastiaan De Krom on drums for this performance.
