Description: In this workshop, participants will learn how to tie (and/or how to be tied) in sustainable, functional lower body rope harnesses from experienced rope/shibari practitioners in an inclusive, body-positive environment. Workshop will include demonstrations, step-by-step hands-on tying instruction, opportunities for individual feedback, and information about risks and safety issues.Skill/Experience Level: An intro rope class (such as Coil & Cord's Beginner Rope Intensive workshop or an equivalent workshop) is very helpful as background for this class. Knowing some basic rope skills, including a square knot, a Somerville bowline single-column tie, and a half-hitch is recommended and helpful for keeping up in this class. People of all experience levels are welcome to attend the workshop, even if you don't have all of the prerequisites, and participating to the extent that your rope skills allow.Partnering: Attend this workshop solo or with a partner! The ties in this class will be demonstrated as partner ties but can also be done as self-ties. Solo attendees are are welcome to try to partner up with another solo participant at the start of the workshop or to self-tie.What to Bring: We recommend 3-4 lengths of rope (usually ~25-35 ft. long each, and perhaps including one shorter length of rope that's ~10-15 ft.) Rope is also available for purchase with workshop sign-up & at the workshop!Instructors: Parker RopeBoi Tickets: TICKET REQUIRED - If there are no tickets shown for a particular event date, it means that event date is sold out.
