  • Exciting new show and huge bill for November at Common Ground Oxford - we welcome Philippe Nash back to town after he's thrilled audiences over the past year alongside New Zealand songwriters Repulsive Woman and Babe Martin who are touring together and local scene legend Heather Blether playing solo! Weds 25th Nov from 7.30pm!Philippe Nash's songs and live delivery are gripping, rageful, cathartic and fragile - there is an undeniable presence to Philippe’s voice and a unique style to his writing and he sites punk-rock, midwestern emo, experimental folk and a touch noise as his influences while deep diving into his own visual world of folk-art inspired drawing, collage, painted poems and ephemeral compositions. We first met Millie Lovelock of Repulsive Woman in 2018 as she played in her alt-grunge duo Astral Children for us - now based in Manchester we've been trying to do another show for many years so we're stoked to hear her delicate, folk-pop leanings in the flesh for the first time.Babe Martin, with a voice like velvet and an acerbic deftness to her lyrics, comes to Oxford for the first tme with warm washes of violin and seascapes of piano combining to create a sonic world beamed in from another time and place. Heather Blether, the solo guise of one of Aftecare's lead vocalists and songwritersHella bill Oxford - get on it and come join the sweet, fragile noise - Common Ground from 7.30pm on Weds 25th Nov. All ages and wheelchair accessible show!
