The innovative and spiritual free jazz trio Zumbi come burning straight out of Leeds’ DIY and alt-jazz scene. Comprising of conguero Yamikani Soko, saxophonist Conrad Clenton and bassist Fergus Quill, Zumbi blend elements of African and Caribbean rhythm as well as the Be-Bop idiom, exploring the many possibilities of Jazz improvisation. Combining the medium of traditional Bantu oral and pictographic story telling, the trio draws from visual scores to convey these messages through the sound of melody and rhythm. This will be a live album recording with two 40 minute sets from the trio. Minimum age: 18+
